I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time… Carrie and I knew each other from college, and worked together in the wilderness in Utah. She will never forgive me for the night there was a snow storm, and I slept through it when she had to get up multiple times to fix the tarp we were under :). What can I say? I’m a heavy sleeper…
But it was great to finally see Carrie again, and this time with Randy! The son of a preacher and an outdoorsman at heart, their love for the wilderness helped bring them together. Their outdoorsy-ness filled every aspect of the wedding, from the wood trellis made by Carrie’s dad to the canoe filled with drinks. They spent a lot of time on the beautiful details, collecting place settings from thrift stores to making wood-burned and painted signs. Carrie, whose middle name is Rose (after her great aunt), had a custom rose ring and roses on her dress. Randy’s ring was true to character, and had mountains, trees and rivers all around it.
Congratulations Carrie and Randy! It was an honor being there for your big day… I hope you’ll break in those cowboy boots up in Montana!
A big thanks to Stephanie Lee in her help second shooting! If you’re in the Champaign/Urbana area and want some pics, check her out!
